And the first Erlang book that really focuses on the OTP application framework. First time I got into Erlang, it was with "Programming Erlang: Software for a Concurrent World" (Joe Armstrong). Title: Erlang and OTP in Action Author: Martin Logan, Eric Merritt, and Richard Carlsson Paperback: 432 pages. Another fine addition to the Erlang library. And reliable apps, and perhaps tired of "hello world" demos that involve web applications. That was like 4 years ago or something. Book: Erlang and OTP in Action. As usual, Manning's In-Action series books, this book introduces Erlang quite well. Publisher: Manning Publications; November 2010. OTP is an important part of Erlang, but quite hard to understand compared to the language itself, this is what the E2 project aims to address: This is normally a call to action, and a well meaning word of encouragement for someone who is perhaps struggling (or has analysis paralysis). It is a very nice book, in my opinion, and I enjoyed immensely reading it. Erlang got a lot of attention until 2-3 years ago, but I noticed more demands on Erlang skill nowadays. However, I can't help but think maybe we have gone too far.
